RCR MANAGING EDITOR

As managing editor of the Red Cedar Review, a literary journal on MSU’s campus, I was responsible for coordinating the reading, editing, and typesetting processes for the 51st edition.

I also made significant changes to the journal’s editorial process and digital presence. In the past, the journal has struggled to transition between academic years, as much of the administrative information was kept on individual managing editors’ computers or in print. I quickly established an editorial calendar and Google Drive folders in the RCR’s main account, introduced staff members to Trello, built a new website and eliminated outdated online materials, established a Facebook page, launched a project to make the RCR’s archive more accessible to those with visual disabilities, and, at the end of the year, helped design and implement a new leadership structure that would streamline the editorial process.
